Town of Niagara Lions, Lioness clubs holding Memorial Day ceremony

On Monday, May 28, the Town of Niagara Lions and Lioness Clubs will host their annual Memorial Day ceremony at the newly constructed memorial in Veterans Memorial Community Park, 7000 Lockport Road, Town of Niagara.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. and will include the placing of memorial wreaths next to the monument by the presidents of the Lions and Lioness clubs and Girl Scout Troop 70165. The flag ceremony will be conducted by Boy Scouts Troop 841, St. John de LaSalle Church.
The color guard will be provided by the Conrad F. Kania Detachment of the Marine Corps League. The Marine Corps League will also perform a live gun salute and the playing of Taps to honor all who gave their lives in service to the country. Girl Scout Mackenzie Gilmore will perform "God Bless America." Opening and closing prayers will be offered by Pastor Ron Maines of Forestview Church of God.
The guest speaker is Bill Paterson, a U.S. Navy veteran and retired school teacher. Paterson will speak about three local heroes he knew who gave their lives in service to our country. Join the clubs in honoring and remembering all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their life, in service to the United States of America.
