The North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks in conjunction with the mayor's office, Niagara County Legislature, Niagara River Greenway Committee, and Community Development Office, announced Monday there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new bandshell at Raymond Klimek Veterans Park. This unveiling will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the park, 700 River Road, North Tonawanda.
Mayor Arthur Pappas and Legislator Richard Andres will give a presentation. North Tonawanda's own tenor Henry Pendleton will sing the National Anthem in honor of Armed Forces Day. Members of the high school bands, The Jack and Jills chorus and The Lumberjack Band, will perform as well as the Cheryl Ferris and Joe Baudo duo. Brochures of the summer festivities will be handed out and refreshments will be served.
