Volunteers to assemble care packages of trail mix and personal care items for Hearts for the Homeless
Coming off a successful "City of Light" holiday-lighting event this past December, all-volunteer organization B Team Buffalo returns to the Black Rock/Riverside neighborhood to continue its charity work. A second signature event for B Team Buffalo, "Send Hunger Packing," will provide hundreds of packages of trail mix and personal care items for Hearts for the Homeless, a local mobile soup kitchen.
The fifth annual "Send Hunger Packing" takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Amvets Medallion Post 13, located just north of the intersection of Hertel Avenue and Tonawanda Street at 25 Review Place. The event offers an opportunity for Western New Yorkers - particularly young professionals - to network while giving back to the community.
To register for the event, prospective volunteers should visit http://bteambuffalo.com or go directly to the volunteer sign-up form at http://bit.ly/SHP2018.
During last year's "Send Hunger Packing" event, nearly 30 volunteers assembled more than 400 packages for the Matt Urban Hope Center. Prior events from 2014-16 benefitted the Friends of Night People, Code Blue Mission Relief and Harbor House.
B Team Buffalo is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization led by young professionals dedicated to promoting a lasting sense of civic pride in the Greater Buffalo area. The B Team creates high-impact signature projects and assists other organizations with the development and execution of volunteer-driven events. It aims to inspire community engagement that translates into ongoing change. For more information, visit http://bteambuffalo.com or connect with the group via social media.
