With Mother's Day arriving this weekend, Dr. Stuart Weinstein of
Advanced Dental is offering a way for one to help Mom smile even brighter - and help a good cause while doing it.
Weinstein will donate all proceeds from every professional teeth-whitening session scheduled by Mother's Day (Sunday, May 13) to the
Child Advocacy Center of Erie County. (Only the appointment has to be made by Mother's Day - the actual visit does not.)
Each whitening session is $136; every dollar will directly benefit child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse victims.
The promotion is not restricted to current patients of Advanced Dental.
"Every Mom would like a whiter smile, and every child deserves a life free from physical and emotional abuse," said Weinstein, a New York City native who relocated to Western New York in 1983. "This program is our way of giving back to the community that has been so great to us."
The Child Advocacy Center brings together local law enforcement agencies, mental health services, child protection, medical services and the district attorney's office under one roof to investigate, treat and support victims of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse. The center provides these young victims and their caregivers immediate, effective and sensitive support.
Nationally, Child Advocacy Centers and their multidisciplinary teams have improved conviction rates for perpetrators of child abuse by up to 94 percent.
