Kenan Center presents awards to student photographers

On Sunday, the Kenan Center in Lockport presented 38 awards to student photographers whose work is currently on exhibit in the Storrs All High Photo Show in the Kenan Center House Gallery in Lockport.
Niagara County students who were recognized included Samantha Perry from Wilson High School who received the award for Best Computer-Generated Photo, and Kylie Miller from Barker High School for the Next Vision Award of Excellence. Receiving Merit Awards were Ciara Gregoire, Barker High School; Charlie Dieteman, Lewiston-Porter High School; and Michael Seeley, Wilson High School.
In addition, the following awards were presented: Best photojournalism/documentary: Makayla Dole, Southwestern High School; Best still life: Ashley Romance, Pioneer High School; Best waterscape: Alexis Barron, Southwestern High School; Best portrait: Courtney Welding, Nardin Academy; Best floralscape: Jenna Salim, Pembroke High School; Best animal photo: Kathryn Humbert, North-Rose Wolcott; Best landscape: Kyle Luangpakdy, Depew High School; Best sports: Symon Jonathan, Akron High School; Best architectural: Hannah Reeves, Pembroke High School; Best urbanscape: Austin Baker, Cattaraurgus Little Valley High School; Best color: Sean Murphy, Amherst High School; Best black & white photo: Noelle Ubanks, Kenmore West High School; Best of show student processed: Payton Bierk, Nardin Academy; and Best of show, commercially processed: Taylor Francis, Cassadaga Valley High School.
Southwestern High School from Jamestown received the Best School Award presented to teacher Mark Kirsch.
Additional Merit Awards went to: Olivia Diebel, Akron High School; Madison Jorgensen, Amherst Central High School; Jordan Leonard, C. W. Baker High School; Amanda Van Houten, Cassadaga Valley High School; Chris Dingman, Cattaraugus Little Valley High School; Matthew Lux, Depew High School; Kristen Grodesky, Kenmore East High School; Anna Cryan, Kenmore West High School; Sarah Palisano, Nardin Academy; Kelsey Roberts, North-Rose Wolcott High School; Tavish O'May, Palmyra-Macedon High School; Jeremy Arnold, Pembroke High School; Danielle Kidler, Pioneer High School; Hannah Swan-Leuze, Southwestern High School; Hailey Denny, Springville Griffith Institute; Kathryn Ellsworth, Sweet Home High School; Jordan Boyd, Tonawanda City High School; Isabella Pezouvanis, Williamsville East High School; Lauren Krolczyk, and Williamsville North High School.
