Technically, the season is spring. But it felt more like winter on Sunday in Lewiston, with an inch of ice covering village and town roads. Still, that didn't deter people from coming out to the annual "Taste of Jazz" fundraiser at the Brickyard Brewing Company on Center Street. The event is a benefit for the Northwest Jazz Festival.
Live music rang through the two-story eatery as guests ate, danced, took pictures and chances on raffle items. Feature performers included The Hot Club of Buffalo, Alex McArthur/Jon Lehning Quartet and the Paul Hage Mirage Band. Local restaurants and Jazz Festival vendors donated food.
The free, two-day Jazz Festival is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 24-25. For more information, visit
