The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is hiring more than 1,000 new and returning lifeguards for the summer season at its swimming beaches and pools.

"We are seeking dedicated individuals to be a part of this crucial team. Lifeguarding is a rewarding way to earn money and serve the public in a friendly, active and fun environment."
New York State Park lifeguards must meet certain eligibility criteria, which includes successfully completing the qualifying procedure, before being hired.
