NFMMC announces additional bariatric patient information seminars

The bariatric surgery department at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is increasing the frequency of its patient information seminars. The additional seminars will make it easier and more convenient for the public to get the facts about weight loss options.
Three monthly seminars in the "Taking Control of Your Weight and Your Life" series will be offered beginning in March. They will be:
•The first Wednesday of the month, beginning March 7 at noon, in the Memorial Medical Center Auditorium, 621 10th St.
•The third Monday of the month, beginning March 19 at 5:30 p.m., in the Memorial Medical Center Auditorium.
•The last Tuesday of the month, beginning March 27 at 5:30 p.m., at the Hampton Inn, 6082 S. Transit Road, Lockport.
Chief of Surgery Venkat Kolli, M.D., F.A.C.S., and Vikram Vattipally, M.D., M.R.C.S., F.A.C.S., perform bariatric surgery at Memorial as part of a comprehensive metabolic and bariatric program that includes nutrition and exercise programming, individual counseling and pre- and post-operative support groups.
They will be joined this summer by Gurteshwar Rana, M.D., upon her completion of a yearlong fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
