The Grand Island Ministerium has announced that the annual Lenten Luncheons will begin at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road. This series has been ongoing for more than three decades.
Lunch begins each week at noon, with a different church on Grand Island providing the meal. On Feb. 21, the meal is being prepared by parishioners at St. Stephen R.C. Church.
Then, at 12:30 p.m., there is a half-hour presentation. This year, the theme is "Justice for All God's People." The speaker on Feb. 21 will be Mary Travers Murphy, executive director of the Family Justice Center. The mission of the FJC is to provide care for the victims of domestic violence.
