Focus will be on improving patient experience, service availability
Creating a healthier Niagara will be the focus of Feb. 21 public forum at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
Titled "Niagara's Shared Vision for Better Population Health," the session will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial's first floor auditorium, 621 10th St.
The purpose of the forum will be two-fold, said Chief Operating Officer Sheila K. Kee.
"We have made significant progress in meeting some of the health care challenges we've discussed in previous forums, and we want to report on that. However, the success of our initiatives has created some new challenges," Kee said. "So we are eager to hear the public's ideas on such topics as how we can work more effectively with patients who are frequent users of our services, make our facilities more welcoming, collaborate on educational opportunities and make primary care services more available."
Refreshments will be served at the free event.
"It is our experience some of the best ideas come from outside the medical center," Kee said. "We are committed to working with the community to pursue a shared vision for better population health, and this forum will be an important next step."
