All eligible organizations encouraged to attend event on March 1; briefing to include review of 2018, overview of 2019 funding application
The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning, in conjunction with the Erie County Arts and Cultural Advisory Board, will kick off the 2019 arts and cultural funding program with an application release on Friday, Feb. 23. Applications are being released earlier in the year and will be due earlier than in the past.
Two applications will again be available: a short-form application for funding requests up to $7,500 and a long-form application for those greater than $7,500. Short-form applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, while long-form applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, May 2.
Last year, all organizations had seven weeks to submit their applications; this year it is close to nine weeks for short-form applications and ten weeks for long-form applications. The staggered deadline will allow organizations more time to complete their applications and improve their submissions through the website.
Organizations meeting the stated eligibility requirements must complete their online application at www.erie.gov/CulturalFunding. All applications will be submitted via the website. Late or incomplete applications will negatively affect an organization's application score. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Erie Arts & Cultural Advisory Board.
At 5 p.m. Thursday, March 1, interested organizations are encouraged to attend an applicant briefing during which time the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning will provide an overview of the online application and answer questions. The voluntary briefing will take place in the Cummings Room at the Buffalo Museum of Science at 1020 Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo.
