Enjoy fine dining and support the Niagara History Center as Lockport's Shamus Restaurant presents the 14th annual "History Center Night" from 4:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21. The evening out at Lockport's renowned Shamus will boost History Center programs as the restaurant donates a portion of all proceeds that evening.
For this fundraiser, guests will order their dinner selections from the menu, as usual. Diners are asked to phone in their reservations directly to the Shamus at 716-433-9809.
The Shamus offers a wide variety of contemporary cuisine, including house specialties. Dining rooms at the Shamus have an intimate, elegant feel, and the bar, with its traditional Irish décor, is a local Lockport favorite.
The Shamus was established in 1950 and has become a restaurant known throughout the Buffalo-Niagara Region. Ann Murphy, owner of the Shamus since 1990, continues the long tradition of fine food, classic atmosphere and warm hospitality.
The History Center appreciates the Shamus's assistance through this much-anticipated annual event.
"The Shamus has offered a commitment to our mission and programs through many years of support," said Melissa Dunlap, executive director of the museum. "The History Center is grateful for this generosity as we share the goal of offering Lockport's best to our patrons and visitors."
The Shamus is located at 98 West Ave., Lockport. It offers off-street parking.
