Ross elected NCCC board chairman

William L. Ross, a member of the Niagara County Community College board of trustees since 2005, was elected chairperson in a unanimous vote at the monthly meeting of the college's board on Tuesday evening on the Sanborn campus.
Ross, of Wheatfield, is the former chairman of Niagara County Legislature. As the NCCC board chairman, Ross said he plans to establish and support a presidential search committee to conduct a national search to select the best candidate to meet the needs of NCCC using the resources available at SUNY. He also supports full transparency for NCCCC students, faculty, administration and support staff
In addition to Ross' 30-year government career, he was an employed in the Niagara-Wheatfield School district for 47 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. Ross has also served on the board of Horizon Services, Niagara Military Affairs Council, the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency board, The NCCC Foundation board, NCCC and the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame Organization.
Ross also completed a 28-year career as a U.S. Army Reserve officer and a Lieutenant colonel.
The other trustees elected to office for 2017-18 term were Gina Virtuoso (vice chairwoman), Bonnie Sloma (secretary) and Bradley Rowles (financial secretary).
