Thu, Nov 9th 2017 04:00 pm
The Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission will once again be delivering delicious turkey dinners to anybody in need in the Niagara Falls area on Thanksgiving Day, with its "Feed the Falls" Thanksgiving event.
Phone lines will be open starting today and continuing through Nov. 22 and anybody in need of a Thanksgiving meal. Call 716-253-1463 between the hours of noon and 5 p.m. weekdays to request a meal.
The Gospel Mission is planning to deliver up to 1,800 Thanksgiving meals this year - the seventh year it has provided this service to the community. This event has grown annually over the past seven years, from initially serving 500 meals to now more than 1,500 meals.
"Its incredible how people the entire WNY community come together to meet the needs of those in Niagara Falls," organizers stated. "Many of those we deliver to are shut-ins and our volunteers may be the only people they see that day. We also serve the migrant farm community going to six farms in Niagara County this year.
"Additionally, we would welcome you to join us on Thanksgiving morning at The First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, New York. We will be starting at 9 a.m. with all meals being distributed by 1 p.m."
Delivery is made possible through the support of hundreds of volunteers, partnering churches and corporate and private sponsors.
