Organization will help support foundation programs and Stone's Buddies
The Eric Wood Fund, formerly The Eric Wood Foundation, has announced a partnership with the Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation operated exclusively for charitable purposes for the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Proceeds will help support programming for The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and
Stone's Buddies - a not-for-profit at the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital dedicated to providing support, resources and assistance to chronically ill pediatric patients and their families.
Founded by Buffalo Bills center Wood, The Eric Wood Fund provides daily encouragement and life-changing experiences for chronically ill, special needs and physically challenged children and their families throughout Greater Buffalo.
"We are excited and proud to align our work with this extraordinary team," Wood said. "By partnering with The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and Stone's Buddies, we have the opportunity to support an even broader population of in-need children and their families. Together, we can make an unprecedented, positive impact on their lives."
Funds raised will support programs for the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital's fifth floor - a dedicated resource and support services center for patients and their families. They will also help advance Stone's Buddies' mission to provide chronically ill patients and families with coping strategies and the tools they need to face life's challenges.
"The Eric Wood Fund's mission is an ideal companion to our work in the community," said Stone's Buddies Director Joanne Koessler-Lana. "The passion, devotion and generosity Eric Wood has for in-need children speaks volumes, and we couldn't ask for a more dedicated partner to help accomplish our mission."
The Eric Wood Fund hosts events throughout the year to raise funds and awareness. On Monday, Nov. 13, it will host "Flights and Bites," a fundraiser and silent auction featuring Wood and a number of his Buffalo Bills teammates.
