Fans encouraged to recycle electronic items Saturday at New Era Field
The Buffalo Bills have teamed up with Republic Services to host the fifth annual electronic recycling drive at New Era Field. It will take place from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Sept. 30, in the Bills ADPRO Sports Fieldhouse lot.
"Each year, Republic Services offers this unique opportunity for community members to safely recycle old electronic items," said Andy Major, Buffalo Bills vice president of operations and guest experience. "This initiative is very important for environmental responsibility, and the Bills are proud to team with Republic Services to help the community. Our fans have been a driving force of this program for the last four years and we truly appreciate their contributions to the recycling efforts again on Saturday."
On Saturday morning, the Republic Services team will turn the Bills ADPRO Sports Fieldhouse lot into the Western New York community's outdoor recycling center. Fans are encouraged to bring all old electronic items, including computers, televisions, copiers, microwave ovens, tablets, video equipment and telephones.
Participating community members will be able to drive directly into full-service lanes, where recyclable items removed from cars by Republic Services and Buffalo Bills volunteers.
Each fan who recycles an item will receive a coupon to the Bills Store.
"Bills fans continue to make a tremendous environmental impact by keeping the tailgate areas clean on game days, and with their overwhelming response to our annual electronics recycling drive," said Loan Mansy, area president of Republic Services. "When it comes to being more environmentally responsible, our customers want to do the right thing, and we are here to help them. Events like this empower Bills fans to help preserve the local environment for generations to come."
Fans can access the Bills ADPRO Sports Fieldhouse lot through the parking lot entrance on Big Tree Road. For more information on the event, or to find a list of acceptable items for recycling, visit www.buffalobills.com/electronicrecycling.
