Licensed practical nursing students at Orleans/Niagara BOCES recently spent a day performing blood pressure screens for members of the community at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls. On Aug. 7, their teachers decided to replace a clinical day with the mall visit where the students educated people on hypertension, its causes and ways to modify risk factors. The students took over 250 blood pressure readings in the course of the day.
For anyone interested in the Orleans/Niagara BOCES LPN program, testing is currently ongoing and classes will begin in October. For more information, contact Sarah Pabon at 731-6800, ext. 445, or email [email protected]
