The newly completed fitness room is equipped with a variety of state-of-the-art cardio, strength and core training equipment. The facility is ADA-compliant and meets adaptive needs for all fitness levels.

In 2014, Lewiston-Porter was awarded $1.2 million to initiate, expand and enhance physical education programs in the district. The extremely competitive grant, facilitated through the U.S. Department of Education, is privately funded by the Carol M. White Foundation.
The goal of the three-year program was to help all students understand, improve or maintain their physical well-being, and meet state physical education standards by undertaking instruction in healthy eating habits and good nutrition and improved physical fitness activities. As the grant cycle has concluded, Lewiston-Porter will now make the facilities open to the community.
The fitness center is a world-class facility, equipped with elliptical machines, adaptive motion trainers, treadmills, free weight stations, core training stations, strength machines and virtual reality upright bikes. There is also a range of specialized equipment, unique to the needs of particular sports and training goals.
We hope you join us for the open house and decide to make the fitness center a part of your life. If you have any questions, or are interested in working as a supervisor, please contact the director of recreation, Brad Halgash, at 286-7865 or [email protected].

Gary Raby was a lifelong Lancer, a 1971 graduate of Lewiston-Porter and beloved coach of the district's cross country and track teams for over a decade. He inspired countless students to be not only great runners, but to believe in themselves and be the best possible people. He inspired us all. He passed away this year, and the event he began to honor the memory of his son will now honor them both.
Before his death, Gary had started the process of creating a cross country course here at Lew-Port. He had sketched out the course and preliminary planning had begun. In Gary's memory, and with the help of many people and organizations, the cross country course will be brought to fruition. We hope to have it completed for the 2018-19 season. More details will follow as it comes to life. The cross-country course and the Raby Memorial Run will continue to unite all Lancers.
