6 nonprofits selected to receive free CreateAthon services

J. Fitzgerald Group begins 24-hour creative marketing blitz July 20
J. Fitzgerald Group, a full-service integrated marketing communications company serving local, regional and international clients, has announced the selection of six regional nonprofit organizations that will receive free advertising and marketing services as part of the only CreateAthon event in Western New York.
CreateAthon beneficiaries were chosen via an online application process and evaluated for inclusion based on audience reach, the ability of services to make an impact on the nonprofit organization and the communities they serve, and the scope of each organization's financial need.
"We received quite a few applications from many deserving charitable organizations for our 10th anniversary event this year," said Carmel Cerullo-Beiter, partner and vice president of J. Fitzgerald Group. "The 2017 class of CreateAthon nonprofits are diverse in their missions as well as their needs, and we can't wait to get to work."
The 24-hour creative blitz starts at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at the JFG offices at 12 W. Main St., Lockport. Representatives from JFG will meet with each of the beneficiary nonprofits prior to the event to discuss the marketing services they need most. The JFG team and a group of volunteers will then work around the clock to create logos, brochures, advertisements, direct mail campaigns, posters, TV/radio scripts, billboards, communication strategies and other needed pieces free of charge. Finished work will be presented to the selected nonprofits at 8 a.m. July 21.
 In an effort to expand CreateAthon benefits to the beneficiary nonprofits, JFG has teamed with area partners, including WKBW-TV, Caboodle Printing, Entercom Buffalo, TBN Direct, Twenty-First Century Press and Wilcro Signs and Graphics, to provide additional media or printing services at low or no cost. The CreateAthon program is a 24-hour creative blitz during which advertising agencies and design firms work on a pro-bono basis for nonprofit organizations. CreateAthon was founded in 1998 by RIGGS, an advertising agency in Columbia, South Carolina. Since its inception, RIGGS has partnered in the coordinated CreateAthon effort with over 100 advertising and marketing firms across the U.S. and Canada.
