Deadline fast approaching for Western New York's only CreateAthon

J. Fitzgerald Group to provide free marketing, advertising services to nonprofit organizations
J. Fitzgerald Group, a full-service integrated marketing communications company serving local, regional and international clients, invites applications for its 10th anniversary CreateAthon, an annual 24-hour event that provides free advertising and marketing services to area nonprofit organizations. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. June 12. Forms can be completed at jfitzgeraldgroup.com/createathon.
"CreateAthon is a fun and inspiring way to give back to the community in a creative way," said Carmel Cerullo-Beiter, vice president of J. Fitzgerald Group. "Each year, this event lends support to charitable organizations in need of a marketing boost, and aims to make a difference for each organization served."
Nonprofit organizations may request projects including the creation of logos, letterhead packages, brochures, advertisements, direct mail campaigns, posters, radio scripts, outdoor billboards, signage and banners. Each application will be evaluated for inclusion based on audience reach, the ability of services to make an impact on the nonprofit organization, and opportunities to help groups that are currently underfunded.
Up to five organizations will be selected to take part in CreateAthon10. Selections will be announced on June 20. 
J. Fitzgerald Group will meet with each of the beneficiary nonprofits prior to the event to discuss the marketing tools they need most. The round-the-clock creative and design marathon will begin at 8 a.m. on July 20, when the J. Fitzgerald Group team and a group of volunteer graphic designers, writers and brand strategists assemble at the JFG offices at 12 W. Main St., Lockport. Finished work will be presented to the selected nonprofit organizations at 8 a.m. July 21.
Organizations that have benefited from previous Western New York CreateAthon events include Aquarium of Niagara, Child Care Resource Network, Community Missions of Niagara Frontier Inc., Compass House, EquiStar Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center, Family & Children Services of Niagara, Gilda's Club, Hope For Two, Institute on Aging, Inkukuleko, Investigative Post, Journey's End Refugee Services, Kenan Center, Kevin Guesthouse, Kids Escaping Drugs, Literacy Volunteers Of Niagara County, Lockport Historic Palace Theatre, Lockport Meals On Wheels, Market Street Art Center, National Foundation for Celiac Awareness, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Neighborhood Health Center, Opportunities Unlimited Of Niagara, Pink the Rink for Susan G. Komen, S.E.R.V. Niagara, Second Generation Theatre Co., St. John The Baptist Church, Stella Niagara Education Park, The Buffalo Green Fund Inc., The Dale Association, United Way of Greater Niagara, VIVE Inc., Wheels With Wings and WNY Challenger Sports League.
