'World's Largest Demolition Derby' will be dedicated to W. Jay Milligan
The "World's Largest Demolition Derby," an Erie County Fair finale tradition, will be dedicated in memory of motorsport promoter Walter "Jay" Milligan.

Milligan, the Erie County Fair's own "King of Crash," passed away on March 20.

In 1963, Milligan produced the first demolition derby for the Erie County Fair and quickly became an innovator in the American stunt/motorsport entertainment industry. For over 50 years, his company, JM Productions, was a driving force behind the Erie County Fair's "World's Largest Demolition Derby" and later the "Ultimate Night of Destruction."

Milligan's life will be celebrated prior to the start of this year's derby during a brief ceremony and moment of silence before the roar of the engines takes over the GUSTO Grandstand.
