Republican Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello has been appointed to the New York State Assembly's subcommittee on women veterans. The subcommittee focuses on the distinct challenges and experiences women veterans experience after leaving the armed forces.

"I look forward to working with my colleagues and addressing the concerns of the women who have sacrificed years of their lives serving our country," Morinello said. "While I am a veteran myself, I am interested to learn about the unique challenges our women veterans face, and actively participate in resolving these issues."

The purpose of the subcommittee on women veterans is to help safeguard and further enhance the rights of women veterans in the Empire State. The subcommittee works in coordination with the Assembly veterans' affairs committee, and hosts public hearings to address areas of concern within the community.
