Heart, Love & Soul was initiated in 1983 by a prayer group from Sacred Heart Parish. Today, the food pantry and dining room remains a beacon of hope for the residents of Niagara Falls. The mission is "to feed the hungry - body, mind and soul." To fulfill its mission, Heart, Love & Soul serves an average of 55 breakfasts and 160 lunches daily, and the pantry provides food to 700 persons each month. In addition, a care coordinator and caseworker assist with other social and medical services.
Each year, Heart, Love & Soul must raise $400,000, in the private sector alone, to secure funding needed to continue its mission. The annual recognition dinner is a fundraiser to support the mission.
