The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier will be providing YWCA Munk/Human scholarships for Niagara County women returning to secondary education effective for the fall 2017 semester.

To be eligible, potential recipients must meet the following criteria:

•Students will be selected by the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier Munk/Human memorial scholarships trust committee, which will be comprised of at least three members, including the chair.

•The committee will make a selection of a nontraditional female student pursuing a higher education with ties to Niagara County. The committee will use the National Center for Educational Statistics' definition of a nontraditional student (including, but not limited to, full-time or part-time students).

•Students pursuing any higher-education following high school or achievement of a GED will be considered for the award. This includes, but is not limited to, students pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or associated degree, as well as accreditation and certification programs.

•Students residing in Niagara County or who have used the services of the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier will be given preference.

Interested applicants are encouraged to complete an application available at the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier; online at www.ywcaniagarafrontier.org (under the "Education and Career Programs, Scholarships" heading); by mail: YWCA, 32 Cottage St., Lockport, NY 14094; by fax: 716-433-1929; or by email: [email protected].
