On Wednesday, Republican Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello joined highway workers from across the state to advocate for Western New York's fair share of infrastructure funding. The Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) is tasked with distributing state funds to localities across the state for road, bridge and highway projects.
"It was great to meet with some of Niagara County's highway workers today at the CHIPS rally," Morinello said. "Speaking with them about the importance of state funding for local projects gave me insight into some of the needs and concerns specific to our area. Ensuring the state allocates a fair share of funding to our district is necessary to not only keep our roads safe and well maintained for families, but also to create jobs in our community."
