Lead track from Grammy Award-winning sibling trio's first pop album, 'My Bad Imagination'

Grammy Award-winning superstar sibling trio The Band Perry on Friday released their new track, "Stay In The Dark," on Interscope Records. The track, produced by Benny Cassette (Kanye West, John Legend, Lily Allen), is the first from The Band Perry's first pop album - "My Bad Imagination" - which is due out later this year.

Fans can purchase the song at iTunes andAmazon or stream it on Apple Music,Google Play and Spotify.

"In the literal sense, 'Stay in the Dark' is about getting close to the one you love, closing the curtains and escaping from the wilds of the world together for the night," Reid Perry said. "For us, though, it has so many meanings, and we're looking forward to see how our fans find themselves in it."

"As we've been thinking about our transition from our last two albums to this one, I've interpreted lyrics more as metaphor with 'I just want to stay in the dark' meaning I want to stay romantic, imaginative and naïve," Kimberly Perry said. "I want to believe in what I can't see. I want to keep walking forward. Chances and bold moves are always the ones that carry you the furthest in life - and for most of us we've got to ignore the naysayers and just take the leap."

"Creatively, 'Stay In The Dark' brings forward some of the elements we've always been known for as The Band Perry, while introducing our fans to all the new sounds we've been working with," Neil Perry said.

For "Stay In Dark," the band fulfilled a career-long dream of working with legendary fashion photographer Steven Klein, who is best known for shooting the likes of Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rhianna, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, as well as campaigns for Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Balmain, Louis Vuitton and McQueen. His iconic photos are also regularly featured on the covers of Arena Homme, Interview, Love, Vogue, V, W and magazines around the world.

The Band Perry was styled by creative director Nicola Formichetti, who is currently the creative director for Diesel and has held similar positions at Mugler and Uniqlo.

The Band Perry will make their debut appearance on the "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" this Tuesday, Feb. 7. They will premiere "Stay In The Dark" on network television. Questlove from The Roots will join them on drums. The show airs on NBC at 1135 p.m. EST/PST.

Stay tuned for more announcements from The Band Perry in the coming weeks.
