From the New York State Thruway Authority: A commercial traffic ban was issued earlier this afternoon in Buffalo on the I-90 (both directions) between the Pennsylvania state line to Buffalo Exit 51 Route 33. Due to severe winter weather, all commercial traffic heading eastbound to the New York state line are to use I-86 eastbound to Route I-390 northbound. Commercial traffic heading west toward Pennsylvania from points east should use Exit 46 for I-390 south to I-86 west.

Motorists may wish to seek alternate routes. During major incidents, the authority broadcasts information on Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and activates dynamic message signs (DMS) to alert motorists.
