NCCC scores high in Military Times' rankings

Military Times has named Niagara County Community College as a top school in "Best for Vets: Colleges 2017" rankings. The eighth annual rankings designation comes from Military Times' school-by-school survey of veteran and military student offerings and rates of academic achievement.

"The Best for Vets: Colleges 2017" rankings is an independent news project that evaluates the factors that help make colleges and universities a good fit for service members, military veterans and their families. More than 500 colleges took part in this year's survey.

Military Times' annual Best for Vets: Colleges 2017 survey evaluates the services, special rules, accommodations and financial incentives offered to students with military ties at various colleges and universities, as well as the many aspects of veteran culture on a campus.

These institutions were evaluated in several categories, with university culture and academic outcomes a deciding factor.

NCCC maintains a strong commitment to assist veteran-students make the challenging transition from military to academic life. NCCC's veteran service counselors provide assistance in navigating the paperwork necessary to apply for GI Bill benefits, figuring out complicated financial aid packages, help with career placement and working with other college offices to expedite paperwork on behalf of our veteran population.
