The Village of Lewiston's Department of Public Works recently removed white lights from Center Street trees, and began hanging festive colored strings in place. Those lights went live on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce teamed with local volunteers to repurpose the white lights. The glowing bulbs are now artfully strung across the International Peace Garden, nestled in between the historic Frontier House and the Lewiston Council on the Arts.
Additional white lights adorn the Hennepin Park Gazebo, where Village of Lewiston officials were set to light the Christmas tree on Friday evening.
