Care-n-Share looks to make holidays better for families in need

Sat, Nov 12th 2016 07:00 am

Care-n-Share food pantry is working to make Thanksgiving and Christmas a little nicer for families in need.

During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, Care-n-Share distributes turkeys and traditional sides to families, with the committee also working on specializing Christmas baskets for families.

To create the meals going to families in need, Care-n-Share asks for contributions - all of which go directly to those it serves. Donations can be sent to PO Box 401 Ransomville, NY 14131. Contributions can be made by going to the donate page, using Pay Pal.

Care-n-Share is a 501(c)(3) organization, which makes gifts tax-deductible.

This pantry, located at 3628 Ransomville Road, has been in operation since December 2010. Clients normally receive a three-day supply of food once a month, to ensure they're getting the resources they need. They're also welcome to personal items such as toothpaste, shampoo, soap, diapers and toilet paper.

Volunteers make up the work force at Care-n-Share, and they extend an open invitation to those willing to attend the food pantry on Thursdays and Saturdays to stock shelves and perform other responsibilities.
