The 26th annual Niagara County Community College Foundation Scholarship Gala took place Saturday at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute. As part of the event, a recognition ceremony was held to introduce six new distinguished student scholarship recipients: Casey Gruarin (Niagara-Wheatfield), Vincent Piazza (North Tonawanda), Devin Litten (Niagara-Wheatfield), Marissa Kendall (Niagara Wheatfield), Quinn Wilson (Starpoint) and Ariana Burns (North Tonawanda).
The distinguished student scholarship is the most prestigious award offered by the NCCC Foundation to incoming freshman. It provides two years of tuition-free education to deserving students based on academic excellence, service to the community, and loyalty to Niagara County.
David R. Bonnevie and his wife, Kari, were the co-chairs of the Scholarship Gala. He is a member of the Class of 1974, and the founder and senior partner of Dental Care Associates. Bonnevie serves as an NCCC Foundation board member.
