Burlington Stores, a national off-price retailer, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new, 41,737-square-foot store in the Town of Niagara on Friday, Sept. 30.
The store, now officially open for business, is located in the Niagara Square Shopping Center at 2429 Military Road.
Approximately 75 associates have been hired to work at this new location.
"We are thrilled to open a new Burlington in the Niagara Falls community, bringing even more jobs to the neighborhood and providing local residents with a valued shopping experience," said Tom Kingsbury, chairman and CEO of Burlington Stores.
Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee S. Wallace said, "The Burlington store coming back to our town gives the Town of Niagara an anchor store again. ... It's been a long time. ... We have not had a store like this that really is for locals in quite a while. I'm really, really excited."
He added, "A giant building that was empty for a long time is now live again."
As part of the store's opening celebration, "Burlington Gives Back," in partnership with "K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers," donated new merchandise to Teacher's Desk. The local organization's mission is to distribute free school supplies to students in need, to encourage teachers, and to provide purpose through volunteerism.
Burlington also partnered with DonorsChoose.org to fund local school projects submitted by public school teachers supporting students within the community.
The store's hours of operation are from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Departments include dresses, suits, sportswear, juniors, accessories, menswear, family footwear and children's clothing. Burlington also includes an assortment of furniture and accessories for baby at Baby Depot, home décor and gifts, along with the largest selection of coats in the nation for the entire family.
