Daemen College (4380 Main St., Amherst) will be the site of the 12th annual World on Your Plate Food and Sustainable Living Conference on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10.

Every October, World on Your Plate (WOYP) holds a conference on food and sustainable living. Keynote speakers are of national and international fame. This year's featured speakers are Jonathan Bloom on "The Food Not Eaten" and Rowen White on "Seed, Our Precious Heritage."

In addition there will be a wide variety of workshops related to food on social justice, health, politics, food production and preservation. Saturday's local vendors, information tables, raffles, music and refreshments add fun and liveliness to the event.

Daemen staff prepares a vegetarian, organic lunch from local foods. All of this is included in registration.

There is a $25 preregistration fee. Visit www.WorldonYourPlate.net. Scholarships are available. Students enter free with Daemen ID.
