Assemblyman John Ceretto, D-Lewiston, announced legislation he authored to increase salaries and continue benefits for members of the New York State Police passed the New York State Assembly (A.10682). The bill implements a collective bargaining agreement between the state and the troopers' police benevolent association (PBA).

"New York State Police put their lives on the line each and every day to keep our communities and our families safe," Ceretto said. "This legislation will ensure our troopers receive the pay and benefits they deserve for their dedicated service."

The bill raises salaries for investigators, senior investigators and investigative specialists in the state police's bureau of criminal investigation. The increase is retroactive to 2014.
