Lewiston Community Lions Club President Regina Cecconi recently received the Robert J. Uplinger Award for her outstanding service to her community. The Robert J. Uplinger award is the highest award available in the Lions Multiple District 20N.

"Thank you for this honor," Cecconi said. "I take my position as a Lion and club president very seriously, and enjoy serving this club, and my community. I will continue to raise awareness of our mission and what it means to be a Lion."

Established in 1993, the award honors outstanding Lions who perform exemplary service to a club, district or community. These honorees possess the highest examples of Lionistic character: ideals, purpose and service.

Lion Robert J. Uplinger served as the 55th past international president, was a member of the Syracuse Host Lion Club - where he served with outstanding distinction - and was the first recipient of the award given in his name.

"Regina has done a tremendous job as a Lion and club president since 2014. She has committed herself to our mission, and it is an honor to present her with this award," Lion Tom Huisgen said.

The new membership year is beginning soon. For more information on Lewiston Community Lions Club programming and membership, visit www.lewistoncommunitylionsclub-ny.org.
