Lewiston Garden Club members gathered at the Lake Ontario cottage of member Barbara Carter on June 6 for a potluck picnic and a chance to relax before the annual Lewiston GardenFest, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 and 19.
GardenFest Chairman Doreen Albee (shown at right, front row) said the multifaceted festival will feature vendors, gardening experts, speakers in a tent near the Frontier House, a container gardening contest, plus 13 public and private gardens to tour. Admission to the public is free.
"This is the garden club's largest fundraiser. We use the money raised for civic beautification and also scholarships for young people pursuing studies that will enhance the care of the earth," Albee said.
