St. Peter's recently hosted an annual favorite event for the school community: the children's basket auction. The event was held Wednesday, March 9, in the school cafeteria.
Leading up to it, parents generously donated hundreds of items, ranging from arts and crafts to movie tickets, scooters and toys. Through the event, the school raised more than $2,400 and - combined with donations from dress-down days - was able to give $2,900 to Catholic Charities to benefit its ministries and programs.
"We see charity as an essential responsibility for our students," Principal Maureen Ingham said. "It's events like this that help them embrace that spirit of giving in a way that's fun and engaging for them."
