'Jesus Christ Superstar' on stage in Youngstown

"Jesus Christ Superstar" will be performed at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, March 10-12, at First Presbyterian of Youngstown, 100 Church St.

The show stars Chris Teal as Jesus, Amy Teal as Mary Magdelene, Tim Goehrig as Judas, Peter Mark Raphael as Caiaphas, Jerry Andres as Annas the Priest, Adam Wall as Herod, Corey Bieber as Simon Zealotes and Ian Lalonde as Peter, with a host of local talent as apostles, soul girls and crowd people ages 8 to 80.

This one-act opera is by the team of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. It tells the story of the last days of Jesus Christ with a rock score, exhilarating vocals and emotional intensity.

This musical is part of the Saturday Concert Series of First Presbyterian Church, and is open to the public with no admission fee. Seating is first-come, first-seated.
