Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce reveals gala award winners

New location for popular event

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce will honor 10 businesses and individuals at the annual Chamber Awards Gala Friday, April 29, at the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. The evening is one of the highlights of the year, held to celebrate the business community and those citizens who help contribute to the success of the region.

This year's honorees include:

  • Chairman's Award: Modern Corporation
  • River Region Partnership Award: Supermarket Liquors and Wines
  • Lewiston Business of the Year: Warren's Village Hardware
  • Youngstown Business of the Year: Ray's Tavern
  • Ransomville Business of the Year: Porter Empty Return Center
  • Sanborn Business of the Year: Niagara County Central Rotary
  • Village of Lewiston Citizen of the Year: Tim Henderson
  • Youngstown Citizen of the Year: Robert Monroe
  • Town of Porter Citizen of the Year:Hon. David Truesdale
  • Town of Lewiston Citizen of the Year: Ronald Winkley

The awards are given based on leadership, dedication and achievement in the community. The chamber and its business association choose the business winners, while the municipalities choose the citizen awardees. The Chamber Awards Gala recognizes these businesses and citizens for making the region a wonderful place to live and do business.

The event includes an evening of silent auction, hors d'oeuvres and then a sit-down dinner, awards program and dancing. The new location will allow the chamber to host more attendees and also work with area member hotels for overnight accommodations.

Tickets are available through the chamber office (895 Center St., Lewiston) at $95 per person.
