Lancaster Opera House presents 'The Night Before Christmas'

"The Night Before Christmas" plays at the Lancaster Opera House Dec. 18-20. Shows are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Continuing the LOH tradition of interactive family holiday shows, it presents a heartwarming hit from two Western New Yorkers.

Set in Christmastown on a very special Christmas Eve, "The Night Before Christmas" tells the story of a brother and sister who get caught up in a fun-filled adventure with a colorful cast of Christmas characters. The audience joins in to help overcome a Frost Giant, foil the unfeeling Toymaster, play reindeer games, sing and dance to help save Christmas.

Goodies from Mrs. Claus' kitchen are available, too.

Directed by David Bondrow with musical staging by Kevin Leary and musical direction by Fran Landis, the cast includes Mary Bellanti, Paul Bene, Dylan Brozyna, Marisa Caruso, Joe DiGiacomo, Zach Gammel, Daniel Gronowski, Carolyn Lansom, Michael Mack, Ricky Needham, Kayla Nowak, Heather Reed, Valerie Stevens, Jay Wollin and Emily Yancey.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $13 for children ages 12 and under. The LOH box office is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and one hour before curtain at performances. Tickets also can be purchased by calling 716-683-1776 or online atwww.LancOpera.org.

The LOH is located on the second floor of the Lancaster Town Hall, 21 Central Ave.
