Hometown Helpers features teens helping the community

Sat, Nov 7th 2015 09:30 am

The North Tonawanda Youth Center will host an informational meeting for all teens interested in becoming part of the newly formed club coined "Hometown Helpers." The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday Nov. 10, at the Youth Center, 35 Grant St., North Tonawanda.

The club's goals will be discussed, which include creating and fulfilling service projects that meet the needs of the community. The event is open to the public and food and refreshments will be provided.

"Our main goal is to first gather a solid core of teens with the simple vision of making our city better. Once we have that established, we want local organizations, citizens and groups to know we exist and are ready and willing to help," said Alex Domaradzki, youth coordinator for the North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks.
