IMPACT Sports Performance to host timed competition on Nov. 21 at HARBORCENTER

Registration is open for the 2015 Buffalo Fitness Games, hosted by IMPACT Sports Performance at HARBORCENTER. The competition is a timed event, in which teams of three complete an exercise circuit that includes sled pushes, medicine ball exercises, a Versaclimber sprint, hurdle jumps, plate pushes, a treadmill sprint and a sled pull. The event will take place (in heats) beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.

"After hosting a very exciting Woodway Curve Challenge that brought more than 20 teams to HARBORCENTER in April, we are planning an event that will once again unite the local fitness community," said Jason Jerome, director of IMPACT Sports Performance. "Our goal is to welcome Western New York athletes and personnel from other area fitness facilities to work together while competing against each other."

The Buffalo Fitness Games model was inspired by popular fitness competitions that are gaining national exposure. IMPACT Sports Performance has taken those competition elements, which focus on metabolic conditioning, and has implemented injury prevention methods to create a competition that focuses on athletic ability and aerobic conditioning.

Participating teams will compete in three divisions (men, women and co-ed) to win prizes from the Buffalo Sabres and lululemon. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Registration is available online at www.HARBORCENTER.com/fitnessgames.
