'Peace Garden Painting Parties' with Thomas Paul Asklar

Lewiston artist and art educator Thomas Paul Asklar is offering summer painting workshop parties for adults in the Lewiston Peace Garden at 6 p.m. Wednesdays from Aug. 19 through Sept. 16.

No experience is necessary.

The $45 cost includes all art materials. Each week will have a different theme. Choose the date(s) you want to paint:

• Aug. 19: "Waves"
• Aug. 26: "Long Beach Sunset"
• Sept. 2: "Cloudscapes"
• Sept. 9: "Dynamic Autumn Trees"
• Sept. 16: "Edmund Fitzgerald Tribute"

Bring your own refreshments. The Lewiston Council on the Arts will supply a canvas, easels, paint, brushes, recyclable cups, napkins, plates and plasticware. Organizers will do all the setup and cleanup.

Have some refreshments, listen to some music and go home with a beautiful artwork.
