On Wednesday, July 15, the Historic Palace Theatre will host a "Bootleggers Ball" in the heart of downtown Lockport. This "Roaring Twenties"-themed event will take place outside, in front of the Palace Theatre (2 East Ave.). There will be a street party with a wide variety of entertainment options, including live music performed by Jonesie and the Cruisers, food vendors such as Scripts Cafe, a beer tent for those of legal drinking age, and a costume contest for the best flapper and bootlegger in town.

Inside, the party continues with gambling tables and spotlight performances from the cast of this summer's production of "Guys & Dolls."

Tickets to attend this event are $10. All proceeds will go to Palace Theatre upkeep.

Charles Dickenson built the Historic Palace Theatre in 1925. The proscenium arch-style space is noted as the gem of the city. The theater is owned and operated by a nonprofit organization, Historic Palace Inc.
