Panepinto hosts free electronics-recycling event

Daylong event in partnership with Time Warner Cable and Sunnking Recycling

This Saturday, June 6, State Sen. Marc Panepinto will host a free electronics-recycling event in partnership with Time Warner Cable and Sunnking Recycling. Dispose of unwanted and unused electronic items and avoid fines and unnecessary harm to the environment.

The free event runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Tonawanda Senior High School, 600 Fletcher St. It will support the City of Tonawanda Youth Board and feature complimentary information for year-round recycling.

A list of acceptable materials for electronics recycling is listed below. Most electronics are 100 percent recyclable:

Bring your old:

  • Televisions (CRT, LCD, LED, plasma)
  • DVD players
  • Computers (desktops and laptops)
  • Monitors (CRT, LCD, LED)
  • Ink and toner cartridges
  • Printers, scanners, copiers
  • Fax machines
  • Cell phones and home phones
  • PDAs, MP3 players and tablets
  • Servers
  • IT and networking equipment
  • Medical and lab equipment
  • Anything with a circuit board or cord

The following items will not be accepted:

  • AC units
  • Broken CRT televisions
  • Alkaline batteries
