The New York State Department of Transportation has announced daily lane closures are scheduled to begin on Buffalo Avenue (NY Route 384) in the City of Niagara Falls as a part of a bridge maintenance/painting project occurring at various locations in Erie and Niagara counties.

Beginning Thursday, daily lane closures are scheduled to occur between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Buffalo Avenue, between 63rd and 68th streets (both directions). During construction, at least one lane will remain open in both directions at all times. These lane closures will be in place daily for approximately five to seven weeks.

This work is weather sensitive and will be delayed in the event of inclement weather.

Motorists are reminded fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
