Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue hosts April volunteer meeting

Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue's monthly volunteer meeting will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga St.

New volunteers are welcome. Topics will include adoption updates, volunteer opportunities and upcoming events, including plans for the second annual Heart of Niagara summer picnic.

Heart of Niagara is a not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Niagara County. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. With the recent adoption of "Frankie," Heart of Niagara has adopted out 300 animals.
