Sno-Chiefs schedule snowmobile safety course

The Shawnee Sno-Chiefs Snowmobile Club, in cooperation with the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Co., will hold a New York State Snowmobile Safety Course Monday, Jan. 19, and Tuesday, Jan. 20. The course is open to anyone age 10 or older.

The course is free. Students are asked to bring a pencil or pen and a snack. Soft drinks will be provided courtesy of the Sno-Chiefs.

A parent or guardian must accompany the student to registration to sign the state-required permission slip or provide a signed note authorizing the student to take the course. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children.

Students must attend both nights to graduate.

The course will be held from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, and from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Shawnee firehall, 3747 Lockport Road, Sanborn.
