Niagara Catholic Jr./Sr. High School's music department celebrated the Christmas spirit Wednesday, Dec. 10. Its Christmas cantata and concert, titled "Season of Wonders," was performed at Prince of Peace Church.

The night began with several Christmas pieces played by the Niagara Catholic band. One of many notable performances was a classical guitar duet of "Simple Gifts" performed by Thomas Tedesco and Korena Tavano. Several students were featured with solos and duets, and the performance concluded with a rendition of "Silent Night" that was played by the entire band.

The cantata told the story of Christmas and Epiphany through song and scripture. The songs featured several soloists, and ballet dancers Teresa Buchner, Victoria Skrlin and Mikayla DaCosta. Throughout the story, students acted out the nativity scene.

Kristen Hill is Niagara Catholic's director of music.
