The Diocese of Buffalo has announced Christmas masses will be celebrated at four Catholic cemeteries, continuing a tradition dating back three decades.

Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kenmore (Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum) and Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston (Holy Angels Chapel Mausoleum) will hold masses at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29.

Holy Cross Cemetery in Lackawanna (Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum) and Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheektowaga (St. Francis of Assisi Chapel Mausoleum) will follow with 5:30 p.m. masses on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

"These masses can be a special time for families and friends to gather, remember and pray for their loved ones who have entered eternal rest," said Carmen A. Colao, director of Catholic Cemeteries for the Diocese of Buffalo.
